Google‘s colourful logo has turned grey as of Friday, September 9th, and many users are confused as to why the emblem has suddenly turned monochrome.

Several Google users were baffled to see a grey logo when they opened the site recently.

The search engine often displays changed logos called Google Doodles, dedicated to important personalities. In all these cases, the logo is clickable and often leads users to a page commemorating the figure from history and their achievements. It also marks birthdays, death days as well as days when important discoveries were made.

However, the grey logo isn’t clickable.

Why is Google grey today?

Google has turned its logo grey to honour Queen Elizabeth II, who died at the age of 96. The Queen passed away on Thursday, September 8th, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

If a user hovers over the Google logo on the search engine’s home page, they should be able to see ‘Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022’…
