Whether it’s a product, a service or perhaps a process, we aim to make things better. It makes us wonder how we are going to design a world that is long and fair to achieve some excellence.

When we talk about making “things better,” we cannot deny the role of the Kanban system in the implementation of TQM (Total Quality Management) for Toyota. As TQM did it for manufacturing, design thinking has the potential to bring human-centered solutions to innovations.

Design thinking takes the human-centered approach to understanding how to deal with the problem before jumping to all possible solutions. We could see its use in several places. The buzz is everywhere, from the social sector to policy making, healthcare to business. So what is design thinking?
