Wanted: Companies in Memphis are looking for tech professionals – The Business Journals

Metro-area companies have shown a consistent need for information technology (IT) professionals through 2022. And, despite a dip in July, tech job postings were on an upward trajectory for August, according to data from CompTIA, a nonprofit organization for the IT industry and workforce.

The year began with the metro area showing close to 1,200 vacant jobs for tech professionals, and the latest numbers for August reveal just over 1,300 job postings — an increase of over 100 over January and 20 more than what was recorded in July. Local job postings for tech professionals peaked in June with over 1,400. The average, year to date, has been about 1,200 postings.

While tech job postings fell nationally from July to August, Memphis and Tennessee went against the current, showing a rise in their IT job postings.
