Voices for Voices charity event in Canton features concert, raises mental health awareness – Massillon Independent

CANTON Voices for Voices will hold a charity event Oct. 12 featuring guest speakers and a rock concert to support mental health and inclusion awareness.

The second annual event is at 7 p.m. at the Cultural Center for the Arts, 1101 Market Ave. N in Canton.

The “A Brand New Day” event will help support the agency’s mission to provide educational materials, workshops, and seminars designed to assist individuals with mental health and career advancement while helping them manage workplace issues.

The event includes educational presentations by Jessica Hoefler, founder and executive director of Piper’s Key, a nonprofit charity that gifts inclusive books to children with disabilities “that represent their unique selves in a positive light,” the agency’s website says.

Presentations also will be given by Brian Laughlin, lieutenant of the Twinsburg Fire Department and James Warnken, a visually impaired/legally blind online accessibility specialist with expertise in search engine…
