Used vehicle prices in OKC jump 25.9% in past year – Journal Record

Used vehicle prices in Oklahoma City increased by 25.9% on average year over year from March 2021 to March 2022, according to industry watcher and search engine iSeeCars.

While that may be depressing news, especially for consumers hard-pressed to find quality yet still affordable used wheels to buy in the metro, the fact is used-vehicle inflation in Oklahoma City actually lagged a little behind the rest of the nation. Among top 50 cities for used vehicle inflation, Oklahoma City was ranked 46th.

Driven by inflation sparked by several factors, including a drop-off in new vehicle production resulting from shortages of parts including critical computer microchips, used vehicle prices across the nation jumped on average by 30.4% year over year from March 2021 to March 2022, iSeeCars reported.

“After analyzing 1.8 million used car sales in March, iSeeCars found that used car prices increased 25.9% or (by an average) $6,758 in Oklahoma City over last year,” the site said in a news…
