During Travel Village Group’s annual conference, trade tool partner Widgety delivered a session to agents about the cruise portal and how to get the best use out of online technology.

Widgety director Damian Gevertz gave the seminar at the event onboard MSC Virtuosa on 27-30 May.

Gevertz said the tool acted as a search engine for cruise itineraries, with the option to post links to the sailings on social media or use in email marketing.

He said the platform, which was being tested out by Travel Village Group agents in the audience, was helpful to homeworkers given its “vast” cruise database.

“It has the stuff people phone up about once they’ve booked their cruise, and it’s all in one place,” he said.

“It has the places you can eat on the ship, menus, where the smoking areas are, Wi-Fi details, health and safety information, even whether there will be a hair dryer in the cabin. You may not know the answers and here they all are in front of you on this platform”.
