Dominica, a tiny Caribbean Island, is seeing a lot of tourism growth post-outbreak 2022.
It hosted a total of 60 704 overnight, land-based tourists last year, which represents a 75.4 per cent increase on the 14,888 visitors it received in 2021.
Officials from Discover Dominica, the tourism office of the island nation, claim that the country projects “even greater growth in 2023.” This is due to positive developments such as a higher post-pandemic demand for travel, Dominica’s relaxed COVID protocols, and the launch on the island of its first direct flights from the U.S.
Dominica was a boutique destination that attracted a record number of visitors to its World Creole Music Festival, October 2012. This prompted many travelers to make Dominica their next stop. The island has seen a lot of interest from both returning and new visitors since the pandemic.
