DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) – Several industries continuing to feel the impact of the pandemic.

An automotive research firm and car search engine has been monitoring new and used car prices for the last year.

There’s a lot of uncertainty right now, new car production is low, chips aren’t being produced fast enough, and used car prices are sky high due to inflation.

Dayton 24/7 Now’s Alex King spoke with experts at iseecars.com, their latest research from march shows the national used car price went up more than 30%.

Dayton is slightly above that. What does that mean?

Julie Blackley said a used car now, will cost you $7,600 more on average than it did last year.

She said in terms of vehicle prices, it’s the perfect storm.
