The NCAA shook off proposed class action claims by student athletes at the University of San Francisco who allege sexual, physical, and mental abuse by the USF baseball coaching staff, but some sex discrimination claims may proceed against the school, the Northern District of California ruled.

The court lacks personal jurisdiction over the NCAA because it is headquartered in Indiana, and its activities in California, including its management of student athletics, “are not the necessary minimum contacts with the forum,” US Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler ruled Wednesday.
