MULTI-ON Turns ChatGPT into Web-Browsing Co-Pilot – Stanford HAI

Integrating the open-source chatbot with a standard web browser, a Stanford researcher has produced a remarkably adept virtual assistant in a matter of weeks.

An AI researcher at Stanford University recently integrated ChatGPT’s capabilities into a web browser and turned the chatbot into a virtual assistant that can search, shop, schedule meetings, and more.

It’s called MULTI-ON and its developer, Divyansh Garg, a researcher and lecturer at Stanford, recently filmed his creation ordering dinner to his desk with a single sentence, “order me a burger from the melt in palo alto using doordash” (sic).

MULTI-ON did the rest — searched the web, perused The Melt’s menu, put a burger in Garg’s cart, entered his delivery address, and paid for the burger without any further input.
