MSU Library Dean Kenning Arlitsch leaving for position at Central European University, Doralyn Rossmann named interim dean – Montana State University
BOZEMAN — Montana State University Library Dean Kenning Arlitsch will depart the university in August for a position at Central European University in Vienna, Austria. Professor Doralyn Rossmann, head of digital library initiatives, has been appointed interim dean of the library. Rossmann will assume her new responsibilities Aug. 8.
MSU Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Robert Mokwa announced the news today in a letter to campus.
During Arlitsch’s time at MSU, the library has championed student success efforts and the university’s research enterprise, and collaborated with other libraries in Montana, Mokwa said. Among many initiatives, Arlitsch led the creation of TRAILS, Montana’s first consortium of academic libraries, which has increased access to electronic research journals for students and faculty in 23 universities and colleges across the state. He has also served as the higher education appointee to the Montana State Library Commission since 2016.
