The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) said it had commenced an investigation after NSW Police found wreckage in Hawks Nest at about noon on Saturday.
“The Robinson R66 single-engine turbine helicopter, which was reported missing on Thursday evening, was located on Saturday in waters off Yacaaba Headland by NSW Police with the assistance of ATSB transport safety investigators,” a statement from the ATSB said.
