Michigan 3rd grader could have her art featured on Google homepage – Midland Daily News

A Michigan elementary school student was chosen as the state’s representative in the final round of the 15th annual Google Doodle contest and could have her design featured on the search engine’s homepage.

Doodle for Google is an annual art contest open to students in grades kindergarten to 12th who are invited to create their own version of the Google logo to have it published on Google.com. This year’s contest asked students to answer the prompt “I am grateful for…” through their art.

Google selected 55 state and territory winners from thousands of submissions, and Simone Lutz, a third grader at Lawton Elementary School in Ann Arbor Public Schools, won the Michigan nomination.

Her art submission titled “I am grateful for imagination and books” highlights her love for reading and shows characters coming to life while she reads.
