Loomis Basketball Club asks for donations for 2022 season – Gold Country Media
The Loomis Basin Basketball Club, founded in 2020, is a competitive Amateur Athletic Union team that consists primarily of juniors and seniors who have already won multiple local tournaments.
The club recently set up a GoFundMe page asking for donations from the local community for their 2022 season.
Former Del Oro High School student-athletes, parents and current student-athletes helped form the club, including Jack Welty who serves as the head coach.
Welty is a 2019 Del Oro alumnus who played basketball with the Golden Eagles, averaging 17.3 points per game in his senior season. Welty went on to play a season at Bethel College, helping lead the Threshers to a 20-12 record before transferring back home to Sierra College.
