I’ll never forget March 29, 2018.

I traveled to South Florida with my lifelong friend Chris to watch the Chicago Cubs play the Miami Marlins in the first game of Opening Day.

First pitch took place about 20 minutes ahead of any other game that day.

I started rolling video on my phone and narrating: “Here we go, first pitch of the 2018 season. José Ureña to Ian Happ.”

I barely got Happ’s name out of my mouth when that unmistakable crack of the bat told me right away the pitch was a home run.

As the crowd exploded I excitedly yelled, “it’s outta here!”

My friend followed up with, “There goes the no-hitter!”
