Since then, the Gators have had two more sub-.500 seasons: 2017 (4-7) and 2021 (6-7).

The Gators entered last season with high hopes, nearly upsetting Alabama in the third game of the season.

They defeated Tennessee the following week and looked to be heading in the right direction.

Until they met Kentucky. The Wildcats defeated the Gators in one of the sloppiest, most penalty-filled game you’ll ever see.

It started a slide where Florida lost five of its final eight games, including an embarrassing loss to little brother UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl.

Dan Mullen was fired soon after an overtime loss to Missouri. The Gators somehow pulled out a rivalry win at Florida State before the loss to UCF.
