South Korean platform giant Naver Corp. will release an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot next month, joining the global race for generative AI in the search field.

While global big tech companies like Google LLC and Microsoft Corp. have taken the lead in expanding the AI ecosystem, Naver plans to defend its dominant position in the Korean search engine market it has maintained for 20 years by providing services tailored to the Korean market.

Maeil Business Newspaper learned on Tuesday that Naver has finalized the service name of its next-generation search chatbot, previously known as Search GPT, as Cue: and recently completed a trademark application process with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
