A raft of new journalism jobs will be created by a regional publisher after one of its titles marked a year in business.

JPIMedia has announced an expansion of its NationalWorld news website, which was launched in March last year with a team of 27 journalists based entirely outside of London.

NationalWorld is set to take on three new journalists initially, including a weekend editor, while further roles “designed to complement the team’s strengths in explainers, data and investigations” are also set to be created.

The move comes after JPI revealed the site has become its highest ranking title for digital audience, achieving 19.3 million page views in March 2022.

A further 7.1m video views were recorded by NationalWorld last month, making it the group’s top performer by that metric too.
