Jaguars reporters talks team’s unfamiliar place as AFC South favorite – The Florida Times-Union

Very little was expected from the Jacksonville Jaguars heading into the 2022 season.

After all, they had a losing record in 10 of the prior 11 seasons, and were coming off a 3-14 campaign in 2021 that went down in flames under Urban Meyer, who was fired after just 13 games.

After a 3-7 start in 2023, the Jaguars seemed to be destined for more futility.

However, the young and rugged team finally clicked after 10 games under new head coach Doug Pederson, winning 6 of their final 7 games to win the AFC South.

They went on to win a first-round playoff game 31-30 in dramatic fashion against the Los Angeles Chargers before making their exit against eventual Super Bowl champion, the Kansas City Chiefs.
