The start of the new year gives cause for a lot of self-reflection. In many cases a survey of the past and frequently a projection for the future.
I know when I open the search engine on my computer, the screen is flooded with promotions for weight loss. If we all had a dollar for every person who starts a diet on Jan. 1, we could all go to Belize and sit on the beach with nothing to do but figure out how we are going to spend all that money. Talk of weight loss is everywhere! Seems like every advertiser ramps up its promotions, attempting to get a piece of the weight loss sales dollar, as millions of people resolve to take better care of themselves. Goodness knows I could stand to lose some weight, but I cannot help but think most of the “resolutions” will be gone and forgotten by the time the first March wind blows.
