According to the National Retail Federation61% of consumers plan to celebrate the holidays, a 54% increase from 2022.
Consumers also plan to spend a total of $6.9 billion — up $1 billion from last year. That comes out to about $43.84 per person!
To break these expenses down even further, men are expected to spend nearly $10 more on average than women — and mostly on booze.
As consumers begin to age out of the 18-34 age bracket, they are bringing their excitement for the holidays into new stages of their lives. Celebration plans among those aged 35 and above are on the rise!

A ban on TikTok is edging closer in the US and EU as fears around user data and national security continue to rise.
According to Social Media Today, “TikTok’s European staff launched a new effort to win over EU regulators by outlining a plan to ensure European user data is stored only in its Ireland data center, and not accessible to Chinese staff.
The programme, called ‘Project Clover’, is being communicated to EU officials in the hope of avoiding further action in the region.
