Google Search tries out AI Mode, a ChatGPT/DeepSeek that cites its web sources – HardwareZone
Since last year, Google’s search engine has been steadily churning out AI-produced summaries for your search results. Now, Google thinks it can be better with new and refined features.
First launched in May 2024, AI Overviews is an information card that sits at the top of your search queries, summarising details pertaining to your search term. Besides ensuring it didn’t give nonsense responses, access to AI Overviews was gradually rolled out of the U.S. to more countries and territories over the months.
AI Overview with Gemini 2.0
In a recent blog post, Google said it is implementing Gemini 2.0 for AI Overviews seen in the U.S. This came shortly after Gemini 2.0 was released to the public.
