Google pays tribute to 10-year-old victim of Uvalde shooting with special “Doodle” post – WOAI
Google is paying tribute to a young artist who was among the 19 children who died in the Uvalde school massacre. 10-year-old Alithia Ramirez entered the doodle for google contest in March.
Unfortunately, her artwork did not make the finals, but Google decided to display it as a tribute to her and the other Uvalde victims. A Google spokesperson said her story and her art “profoundly touched us.”
President Joe Biden has also told Alithia’s father he plans to hang one of her drawings in the White House.
The search engine giant will announce five finalists for the doodle for google contest on July 28th. Finalists will get a $5,000 college scholarship and the overall winner will get $30,000.
