Google kicks off new AI-driven search engine – Proactive Investors USA
Google announced in a blog post on Thursday that it has launched Search Generative Experience, or SGE, an experimental version of its Search engine that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) answers directly into results.
The internet giant said SGE uses AI to answer user questions right on the Google Search webpage, unlike a normal Google Search that brings up a list of blue links.
With SGE, after entering a query into Google Search a green or blue box will expand with a novel answer generated by Google’s large language model, like the one powering OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Follow-up questions can also be asked in SGE to get more precise results.
SGE isn’t open to the public at this time and requires you to sign up to Google’s Search Labs, but here’s how to join the waitlist so you can be among the first to test Google’s SGE, according to CNET:
- Open the Chrome browser on a computer.
- Sign into you Google account.
- Open a new tab in your browser.
- At the top right, there will be a Labs…
