Data relating to 10,000 British Council students leaked – Research Professional News
The British Council has said it takes its responsibilities under the data protection law “very seriously” after it was revealed that the personal details of thousands of its students were inadvertently made available online.
Cybersecurity software firm Clario discovered that more than 144,000 files containing data such as students’ full names, email addresses and details relating to their student ID had been indexed by a search engine last year. The data related to around 10,000 individuals.
