Data has revealed that many Gloucestershire postcodes are breaching World Health Organisation (WHO) pollution limits. An interactive map created by the Central Office of Public Interest (COPI) has laid bare the poor air quality faced across the county.
The not-for-profit organisation addresspollution.org allows people to check pollution levels at their postcode through their website search engine. You are able to compare your local levels with other parts of the nation.
The website provides every UK address with air pollution data. The figures are taken from a national 20m/sq resolution model created by Imperial College London. It records concentrations of Pm2.5 (fine particles with a diameter of 2.5 microns or less), PM10 (particles with a diameter of 10 microns or less) and NO2 (Nitrogen Dioxide).
