Cause of fire at abandoned Pughsville Road home not yet determined – The Suffolk News-Herald – Suffolk News-Herald
No one was injured in an early morning fire at an abandoned residence in the 3800 block of Pughsville Road, North Suffolk.
Emergency Communications dispatched Suffolk Fire and Rescue to the residential fire at 2:05 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3. Battalion 2, Engine 5, Engine 25, Ladder 11 and Medic 5 arrived at 2:12 a.m. to find heavy fire and smoke showing from a 40-foot single-wide remanufactured home, according to a department news release.
Upon investigation, firefighters found a well-advanced fire in the abandoned manufactured home. They were able to prevent the spread of fire to adjacent homes and performed a search of the interior of the residence.

No injuries occurred to citizens or firefighters, the news release stated.
The fire was placed under control at 2:23 a.m. Suffolk Police provided traffic control. Chesapeake Fire Department provided automatic aid as the Pughsville neighborhood borders the City of Suffolk and the City of Chesapeake.
