Halloween appears to be giving dog owners the shivers this week, with a massive rise in Google searches for ‘can dogs see ghosts?’
The search engine giant says the number of users looking for the answer is up 60% as October 31 creeps closer.
And an animal wellbeing specialist says that while many people do believe their pets can sense the spirit word, there is nothing to be frightened of as long as the dog does not put themselves in physical danger.
Catrin George, Animal Wellbeing Specialist at Animal Friends Pet Insurance said: “Some people believe that animals having a sixth sense is an old wives tail, some believe wholeheartedly that our pets can see ghosts, we’ll truly never 100% know what the case is, but it just goes to show that our furry friends could be much more intuitive than they get credit for.
“Ensure that you keep an eye on your pet and as long as they’re behaving as they normally would, and not placing themselves in any danger, there’s no need to worry.”
