Bangor RNLI came to the rescue of two people on Sunday (4 June) after their fishing boat suffered engine failure just south of Whitehea
At 11.35pm, the volunteer crew of Bangor RNLI at the request of HM Coastguard launched the lifeboat to assist two people onboard a fishing boat that had experienced engine trouble just south of Whitehead.
The lifeboat was launched immediately and made its way to the casualty vessel. The weather was flat calm with great visibility under a full blood red moon.
On arrival, lifeboat helm Peter Semple assessed the situation and a decision was made to secure a tow line and bring the vessel to the nearest safest harbour at Carrickfergus Marina.
The lifeboat then returned to Bangor RNLI and was made ready for service at 1.35am on Monday morning.
