April Holland: On the road and on her toes

There are people who enjoy working remotely and there are those who live the digital nomad life.

For our leading lady, a remote environment means the opportunity to work from anywhere.

Enter April Holland, the self-proclaimed “Salem (Massachusetts) girl,” who has a lot more up her sleeve than New England small-town stories and a few adventures.

1. Pack up all your things

Her story begins with a rolling start at Salam State University with a double major in communications and public relations and a minor in international marketing.

“I was the newspaper editor when I was there, and I worked in the PR office at college for a long time, it was fun,” says our star too casually.

After graduating, she worked within a non-profit organization that helped support war veterans who were called Run to home base. Here she helped plan event and lead volunteer efforts at fundraising events.

“I thought for sure I wanted to end up in some marketing role for either nonprofit or education, so I went the education route for a while. I still have a very soft spot for education and higher education.”

Before reaching Brafton, she had the chance to work with The Real School of Music and Songbird sings. His campaigned in DC for music education rights for differently abled audiences and vets with PTSD. She worked on songwriting workshops and advocated for grants to support these efforts.
